My Quest To Be On Reality Television

lose weight fast

One of the best forms of TV programming is the reality genre.  I look forward to shows that have been on in the past, waiting for their new season.  It usually does not matter what the show is, I like a lot of them.  If I was to pick one that I really liked, I would have to say it is the Biggest Loser.  There are many reasons that I like this show although I can not tell you which are the most important.

The show seems like it is about people like me.  I am not happy with the size of my body either.  I might not be as bad as some of the contestants on the show, but I am not at a healthy weight either.  It is not the same as when I was younger though.  Think that by tuning into the show every week, I have found a desire to do what I need to do.  I do not want to be faced with the problems that come with the excess fat on the body.  I do not want to put my health at risk because of my lifestyle, but I also did not want to go find a way to learn lose weight fast if there was something better that I could do, and the things that I saw on the Biggest Loser looked like a healthier way for me to get into shape, but the problem I faced was actually doing what I was supposed to do.

One thing that interests me is the people who are on the show and what got them there.  The contestants are very familiar to me.  The contestants have weight issues.  They are not professionals that have been hired to put on a show.  This could be the show that needs me on it.  I found out what you had to do to try to get on the show.  I read the rules and the application.  I did not follow through.  To lose enough weight to win would not ever be possible because I was not carrying that much extra weight to start.  I had a problem, but I would have to fix it myself.

To lose the weight I would commit myself just like I was a contestant.  One night after watching a bunch of television I decided to find a way to get my body into the shape it was supposed to be in and I knew that the answer was not in the infomercial that was airing that promised to help a person find a way how to lose weight fast, but rather would require me to make the effort to eat right and exercise regularly if I was to really get into shape.  It did not take long for me to find a bunch of ways to get myself to a healthy weight.

The first place I turned to was the internet which had an abundance of plans that promised to help me.  A medical professional was the next place that I turned to for advice on what to do.  The diet was easy, but a work out was harder to do.  Physical activity was something I watched others doing.  Rather than doing it wrong, I enlisted the help of a personal trainer at the nearby health spa.  By turning to the help at a gym, I was able to find a program that would work for me and would allow me to get healthy in a reasonable amount of time if I did the work.

I was able to commit myself to my new program.  The weight did not come off as quickly as it did for the contestant on the show.  But it did come off.  Slowly but surely, my body shape was improving.  My improved diet allowed me to have more energy than before.  The workouts got easier with each passing week.  I was not perfect with my diet and exercise.  I had no desire to be called a quitter by anyone.  It made me the Biggest Winner. This is how to lose weight fast without exercise or diet pills

When A Weight Loss Reality Show Goes Bad

There is a weight loss competition show called The Biggest Loser.  The show is a competition among a group of obese people to see who can shed the most pounds.  The good side is people have changed their lives due to the show.  Not everything that happens during the competition is a positive.

No one can deny that the contestants are able to drop an incredible number of pounds.  For most individuals, the amount of weight that they can normally lose pales in comparison to these contestants. People talk about the massive weight loss that contestants achieve on the show on message boards like the biggest loser weight loss forum and they admit that the results on the show should not be surprising when you calculate the massive caloric deficit achieved from 4-6 hours of daily training and physical activity, combined with low calorie dieting., but what many fans seem to ignore is that weight loss is not the same as fat loss. People who watch the show should be wary about the results that are put up.  Much of the loss is water.  The people on the show are not always losing the fat that they should be.

They could take care of that problem in a hurry.  There are other ways to measure a person’s weight loss than to see how many pounds they drop.  If you base the winner on the loss of fat instead of the loss of pounds people would be able to get their body into good shape by adding muscle and still be able to win the title.

Losing weight too fast is not the healthy way to do it.  The network, the trainers and other supporters of the show say they do not promote or endorse drugs and they do not want people to try to lose weight fast ing or any unhealthy methods of weight loss, but  the inherent nature of the show promotes dangerous behavior.

No one knows for sure whether the people on the show have taken supplements to help them lose wieight.  Some people will resort to anything to win the grand prize.  Even if the contestants do not take any supplements, they are still using risky behavior because of their limited intake of water before weigh ins.

The contestants are not professional athletes but they often train like they are on the show.  There was one season that had the people on the show compete in a physical challenge before they had started any training.  In order to win, a person had to finish first in a foot race along the shore line.  The contestants were not taking it easy during the race.   It was a race with a prize for the winner.  Not everyone completed the challenge.  Instead of focusing on the danger of obese people competing in this way, the event was used to create a story line.

This was not the only time that someone on the show suffered injuries that required treatment by a medical profession.{ Later during the workout, contestants were shown climbing a Jacob’s ladder, pushing sleds, doing intense cardio and calisthenics, lifting weights and performing plyometrics and  these did not look like beginner-level six pack ab exercises program although the form on some of the exercises was sloppy enough to make a professional strength and conditioning coach cringe.}  Producers are aware of the risk and have all potential contestants checked by doctors before they come on the show.  But contestants also sign away their rights to the producers.  When the show is aired they also let the audience know that the things that are being done on the show are not what a person should try at home. Most viewers do not pay attention to the words that tell them to consult with as doctor or a fitness professional before they start a diet plan thus limiting the effect of the advisories.  One part of the show that is also trivialized is the amount of time that each person spends in the gym working out to achieve the amazing results.  It is not safe for most people to do this.  It is something that no one at home should ever try to emulate.
